At this year’s GTC Paris, OpenNebula Systems teamed up with Dell Technologies to deliver a powerful live demo that brought the concept of a Sovereign AI Factory to life. Built on a NVIDIA NCP Compliant Reference Architecture and powered by OpenNebula’s open source cloud platform, this demo showcased what’s now possible for organizations looking to deploy secure, high-performance AI infrastructure—without compromising on sovereignty or control.
This wasn’t just a proof of concept, but a production-ready solution, designed for practical deployment in strategic sectors across Europe.
A Real-World Demo of Sovereign AI
The centerpiece of the showcase was a hands-on simulation of a multi-tenant AI Factory environment. Using Dell Technologies’ AI Factory Infrastructure based on servers equipped with 8x NVIDIA H100 GPUs with BF-3 DPUs, we demonstrated how different tenants can independently run large language models (LLMs) from Hugging Face using NVIDIA Dynamo, all while securely sharing resources.
With OpenNebula at its core, the demo highlighted:
- True Secure Multi-Tenancy: Each tenant operated within fully isolated virtual machines, with enforced GPU pinning, dedicated quotas, and segmented virtual networks—delivering the infrastructure-layer security and compliance that typical AI orchestration platforms can’t guarantee.
- Flexible AIaaS Orchestration: Support for both containerized and virtualized workloads, enabling versatile, cost-effective AI development.
- Turnkey Deployment: A fully integrated, production-ready LLMas-a-Service platform already powering real use cases for telcos and public institutions across Europe.
Built Together with Dell Technologies
This showcase was made possible thanks to the close collaboration between OpenNebula and Dell Technologies. By combining Dell Technologies’ validated, enterprise-grade infrastructure with OpenNebula’s powerful open source cloud stack, organizations can now deploy sovereign AI environments that are scalable, secure, and future-proof.
We thank Dell Technologies for their partnership and for driving forward this vision of open, sovereign AI solutions.
Growing Momentum Across the EU
At the event, we had the opportunity to connect directly with key players—cloud service providers, telecom operators, HPC leaders, and public sector stakeholders—many of whom are actively exploring Sovereign AI Factories as a vital part of their long-term digital strategies. These conversations underscored the growing interest and urgent demand for sovereign, production-grade AI platforms.
With major EU initiatives like the €3B IPCEI-CIS gaining strong momentum, OpenNebula is proud to be at the forefront—providing the full software stack and services needed to build and operate Sovereign AI Factories across Europe.
