About This Office Hours Session

We often rely on automation tools to handle repetitive tasks and keep operations consistent. Additionally, these tools help us set up event-based workflows, so actions run automatically when conditions are met.

With OpenNebula’s Hooks subsystem, you get built-in, event-driven automation directly within your cloud platform. This allows you to execute commands automatically from the Frontend or Virtualization Nodes, respond to system events in real time, and streamline everything—from recovery actions to integrations with other systems.

In this office hours session, we’ll explore how to use Hooks in a practical way and where they can make the biggest difference. Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Quick overview: What the Hooks subsystem is, how it works, and real examples of when to use it.
  • Pre-submitted questions: We’ll go through the most relevant questions submitted during registration.
  • Live Q&A: Ask your questions and get straightforward, practical answers from our team.

The session will be conducted by Damian Satława, Cloud Systems Engineer at OpenNebula Systems, and Aleksejs Petrovs, Technical Trainer at OpenNebula Systems.

If you’re looking to reduce operational overhead, improve reliability, and bring automation closer to your infrastructure layer, don’t miss this session!
