Office Hours
Distributed Resource Scheduling in OpenNebula
May 6, 2026 @ 5 pm CEST / 11 am EDT
About This Office Hours Session
Infrastructure scales rapidly, and keeping workloads balanced across clusters becomes increasingly difficult. Static placement policies are no longer enough to prevent hotspots, underutilization, and performance degradation in dynamic environments.
With OneDRS (OpenNebula’s AI-powered Distributed Resource Scheduler), you can automate workload distribution across your infrastructure. As a result, your cloud continuously adapts to resource usage patterns through intelligent scheduling and live VM migrations, similar to VMware DRS.
In this office hours session, we’ll dive into OneDRS and how to fine-tune it for different workload and infrastructure scenarios.
Agenda
- OneDRS overview: How the distributed resource scheduler works in OpenNebula, including placement logic, policies, and configuration options for different environments.
- Pre-submitted questions: We’ll answer the most relevant technical questions submitted ahead of the session.
- Live Q&A: Ask our experts your questions and get practical guidance on configuring and optimizing OneDRS in real-world setups.
This session will be led by Mirko Stojiljković, Cloud Systems Developer at OpenNebula Systems, and Aleksejs Petrovs, Technical Trainer at OpenNebula Systems.
Don’t miss the chance to learn how to optimize workload distribution with OneDRS and get direct insights from the engineers behind it.
