On June 18, we brought together cloud and AI enthusiasts for another edition of OpenNebula TechDay—our second event in the AI-focused series—this time in the heart of Paris, hosted in collaboration with our partner Iguane Solutions.
The central theme of this TechDay was how to build scalable, self-hosted platforms for delivering AI services, leveraging open source infrastructure and offering native support for Hugging Face models. The sessions focused on enabling organizations to deploy sovereign LLMaaS solutions that combine flexibility, security, and full data control.
The day began with a warm welcome from the OpenNebula Systems team, who kicked things off with an overview of the OpenNebula platform, highlighting its enterprise-grade features and unique benefits.
Given the significant increase in demo requests we’ve received since Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, we also took the opportunity to showcase why so many organizations are now choosing OpenNebula as their alternative. We shared recent migration stories that illustrate the real, tangible benefits of making the switch—from significantly lower infrastructure and licensing costs to better performance and more control over cloud environments.
The spotlight then shifted to AI. Our experts presented how OpenNebula powers modern AI factories, enabling simplified LLM deployment, cost-efficient AI operations, robust multi-tenancy, and secure network isolation. A live demo followed, featuring an example of an AI Factory multi-tenant deployment with per user GPU quota control, deploying an LLM using OpenNebula’s Dynamo appliance. For those interested in building AI infrastructure at scale, more information is available here.
Later in the program, the team from Iguane Solutions showcased an impressive project: a fully private, open source-based stack built with OpenNebula and NVIDIA GPUs. The goal? To deliver a secure, multi-user solution that gives customers more transparency and control over their infrastructure. The session covered everything from hardware setup and software orchestration to energy efficiency and real-world applications.
The OpenNebula Systems team also offered a glimpse into the AI-focused roadmap, shared early features of the upcoming OpenNebula 7.0 release, and highlighted the value of the subscription model.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for TechDay Paris, and to Iguane Solutions for partnering with us for this event. As we take a short summer break, we’re also gearing up for more TechDays and events in the coming months.
Stay tuned—we’ll be back soon with more!
