Introducing one-apps: OpenNebula’s new appliance building tool

February 21, 2024 @ 11am ET / 5pm CET

Kubernetes webinar in collaboration with SUSE

About this Webinar

During this webinar, we will showcase the new one-apps project, an evolution of our previous Linux and Windows contextualization repositories, along with the automation tools used for building them. This project aims to simplify creating public, ready-to-use marketplace appliances with embedded contextualization packages aimed at configuring the VM guest OS. Additionally, we’re focusing on enhancing transparency in image-building processes and fostering closer community involvement in developing these appliances.

What to expect from this webinar?

  • Introduction to the one-apps project, discover its applications, and the process of building context packages & marketplace appliances.
  • Understand current development practices, explore the new contextualization wiki, and learn how to effectively report issues, bugs, and contribute fixes.
  • Live demonstration of context package generation, appliance generation, and appliance usage on an OpenNebula instance.

This webinar will be conducted by Francisco Picolini (Open Source Community Manager, OpenNebula Systems), with presentations by Daniel Clavijo (Cloud Engineer, OpenNebula Systems).
