Hosted by the Linux Foundation, this event gathers top developers, technologists, and community leaders to collaborate and push the boundaries of open source innovation.

Our team will be contributing to several key discussions, highlighting how these technologies are transforming the open source landscape. Here’s what you can expect from OpenNebula Systems at the Summit.

IPCEI-CIS: Consolidating Cloud and Edge Neutrality in Europe

On September 18, Alberto P. Martí, VP of Open Source Innovation at OpenNebula Systems, will give a keynote speech “How Will IPCEI-CIS Redefine Open Source in the EU?”. He will dive deep into IPCEI-CIS, the EU’s groundbreaking initiative to create the first interoperable and vendor-neutral European data processing ecosystem. This project is set to reduce reliance on external providers, promoting open source technologies across the EU.

Alberto will discuss the opportunities and challenges that IPCEI-CIS presents to developers and citizens alike. His insights will highlight how this “Made in EU” initiative will reshape the future of open source software production, focusing on cloud neutrality and fostering global collaboration while aligning with European values.

Later on that day, Alberto will also be one of the key speakers in the “Open Source in the Public Sector” track and join the panel “What Is Next for Public Sector Open Source Collaboration?” with experts from Sovereign Tech Fund, OpenForum Europe, and other significant organizations, where they will explore the future of open source collaboration within the public sector.

Confidential Computing: Securing the Cloud-Edge Continuum

As part of the Confidential Computing Mini Summit on September 19, Francisco Picolini, Open Source Community Manager at OpenNebula Systems, will share insights into confidential computing and how it supports data privacy and security across Europe’s cloud-edge continuum. This summit will feature the latest advancements, demos, and real-world use cases, offering a unique opportunity to engage with experts in data security.

Francisco’s keynote speech “Supporting Confidential Computing across Europe’s Cloud-Edge Continuum” will showcase how the IPCEI project is advancing the integration of confidential computing technologies. The talk will emphasize how this effort reinforces European sovereignty by ensuring the highest standards of security and trust in cloud and edge environments.

Sylva Mini Summit: Shaping the Future of 5G and Edge in Telecom
