13:00-14:00: Lunch
14:00 – 17:00: Presentations
14:00 – 14:30: OpenNebula at Netways
Sebastian Saemann, Head of Managed Services at Netways We at Netways are using OpenNebula in production for more than 4 years now. I will show you and talk about the evolution of our cloud infrastructure from the early days to now with focus on the actual setup and its components. |
14:30 – 15:00: How to Monitor your OpenNebula Environment with Icinga
Bernd Erk, Managing Director of NETWAYS / co-founder and project organiser of the Icinga project OpenNebula is a great enterprise cloud solution and one of its major advantages compared to others on the market is its simplicity. You can start your cloud in minutes and OpenNebula takes care of your compute, storage and network resources. But things can get more complicated running in production. OpenNebula needs an available infrastructure with good-performance to serve all requests in the expected quality. Icinga is great choice to fill this gap by taking advantage of the tremendous number of supported hard- and software. It delivers an easily scalable solution, with clustering, load balancing, automated replication, and even business process monitoring out-of-the-box. Based on a new configuration format with advanced language features – like conditional processing and complex type support – monitoring agile environments works like a breeze. The talk will give a short overview over Icinga followed by a detailed explanation into availability and performance monitoring of favourite cloud compute- and storage-backends. It will provide best practices and precise production examples to keep an eye on your cloud and your 24×7 availability. |
15:00 – 15:30: Coffee Break
15:30 – 16:00: ONE, Microservices & Legacy.
Norman Meßtorff, Senior Operations Engineer at Deutsche Post E-POST
16:00 – 16:30: Docker Machine and Swarm on OpenNebula
Javier Fontán, Advanced Solutions Engineer at OpenNebula Systems Introduction to OpenNebula’s integration with Docker Machine, or how to run dockers and swarms in your Cloud without breaking a sweat. Open discussion about what the future awaits for Docker in OpenNebula. |
16:30 – 17:00: Open Space
This is a session for attendees to gather and discuss passionate questions, burning ideas, features, integrations or any topic of their choice, in an informal and tech-friendly environment, with other passionate and interested people. There is no preplanned list of topics, only time slots and a space in one of the meeting rooms where interested participants propose topics and pick time slots. |
