  • Software: Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS (64-bit ARM), KVM, and OpenNebula installed via MiniONE for a fast, all-in-one deployment.

Once installed, the Sunstone web interface made it simple to instantiate an Alpine Linux VM, connect via SSH or VNC, and start running workloads — all directly from the Raspberry Pi.

Lessons Learned

Deploying on ARM devices comes with its quirks, but practical fixes exist for common challenges, such as NUMA topology warnings, CPU model compatibility, and network DNS configuration.
