Earlier this month, my colleague Marco Mancini (Cloud Technical Evangelist) joined Sebastian Mangelkramer (CEO & Co-Founder of FullStacks) and Philipp Kainz (CVO & Co-Founder of FullStacks) in an great presentation at SUSECON in which they showed an amazing new solution for managing large-scale Kubernetes deployments at the (far) edge! πŸš€

FullStackS is a young but highly innovative company, focused on Cloud and DevOps with Rancher and Kubernetes. The founders look back on many years of experience with OpenNebula, Kubernetes and other key open source technologies. On this occasion, this joint presentation introduced a new open source solution for the automation and orchestration of large-scale deployments of Kubernetes clusters at the edge based on OpenNebula, Rancher, and K3s.

Long story short, OpenNebula deals with all the automation needed for the deployment of K3s clusters on the edge infrastructure of choice, and then these K3s clusters self-register at a central Rancher Management Server, an approach that can actually scale up to thousands of deployments, and that makes things much easier to manage! πŸ€“
