The Enterprise Edition of OpenNebula is a tested, hardened, and production-ready version that incorporates additional bug fixes and software patches with minor enhancements developed by OpenNebula Systems.

While we make all our products open source under the Apache License Version 2.0, the packages of our Enterprise Edition and the Enterprise Tools we’ve created for Corporate Users are distributed under commercial license terms only available to those customers with an active OpenNebula Subscription.

Access Control Lists (ACLs) tab in the new FireEdge Sunstone

This new release comes with a number of new features:

  • Virtual Routers Enhancements: Virtual Routers now come with a new FLOATING_ONLY attribute for network NICs. When enabled (yes), no additional IPs will be allocated to the VMs of the Virtual Router, streamlining network configurations.
  • VM Rescheduling Update: For VMs marked with the resched flag, we’ve now added the HOST_ID parameter to the External Scheduler API, offering more precise control over VM scheduling.
  • PCI Passthrough Devices: A new operation now allows for the attachment/detachment of PCI passthrough devices when VMs are powered off or undeployed. This advanced feature is accessible through both the API and CLI in the 6.8.2 release.
  • Python Binding Custom Attributes: We’ve expanded the Python binding to support custom attributes, enhancing automation and integration capabilities.
  • Fireedge Sunstone Updates:
    • Cluster Management: The new Cluster tab in Fireedge Sunstone makes managing your clusters easier than ever.
    • Access Control Lists (ACLs): With the addition of the ACL tab, managing permissions is now more intuitive.
    • Virtual Network Templates: The Virtual Network Templates Tab brings streamlined management to your network configurations.
