It was just over two months ago that we announced the release of OpenNebula 6.0 “Mutara”, which has garnered a collection of new and innovative capabilities, ranging from its new Edge Computing features, its multi-cloud deployment capability based on our new Provider Catalog, and its enhanced Kubernetes support, to name a few. Additionally, version 6.0 comes with support for vSphere 7.0, allowing you to power your OpenNebula cloud on VMware’s latest and greatest.

We just announced a critical backporting of vSphere 7.0 compatibility to our OpenNebula 5.12.10 Enterprise Edition. Now, not only are OpenNebula users who have upgraded to 6.0 able to take advantage of this integration with vSphere 7.0, but customers with an OpenNebula Subscription, and running our 5.12.x LTS version, will have that same benefit for the many months to come until its EOL in September 2022.

This is one of many benefits that our OpenNebula Subscriptions provide—not only do they offer customers with SLA-based enterprise support with direct access to our Support and Engineering teams, but as noted here, access to the Enterprise Edition is made exclusively available, and that includes being able to equip your cloud with the more hardened and tested version of the software as well as having an LTS version that remains stable, yet current, for your enterprise cloud.

Our Subscription offerings are designed to provide support, security, and ultimate value and savings for organizations that depend on their enterprise cloud solution. If you have, at any point, considered backing your enterprise cloud with an OpenNebula Subscription—or perhaps you haven’t yet considered it—take a moment to review our Subscription offerings to learn a bit about how you can underpin your OpenNebula cloud with value and reliability. If you have any questions or doubts about what good it would do for your specific use case, feel free to contact us at any time!
