We’re excited to announce the release of the new version of OneKE, version 1.27a. For those who aren’t familiar, OneKE is built upon SUSE Rancher’s RKE2 and offers a comprehensive set of features designed to seamlessly deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters on top of private or hybrid OpenNebula clouds.
What’s special about OneKE 1.27a, you ask? Well, the “a” in the version stands for “air-gapped.” This means that this version is specifically designed for scenarios where there’s no internet connection available. Previously you could deploy it like air-gapped when you used cillium for example, but now you can deploy it in all configurations for the cost of a bigger image size. This is a game-changer for environments where security or connectivity issues make internet access challenging.
With the standard OneKE 1.27, you got the core RKE2 elements, but for a fully offline deployment, internet access was still needed to load certain images. Not anymore! OneKE 1.27a packs in everything you need for an internet-free setup. Whether it’s all the CNI options or Multus configurations, this version has got it covered 💪
You can find the OneKE virtual appliance on our marketplace. Give it a try and let us know what you think! 🤓
