Technology

Despite the Easter break, our Engineering Team has been quite busy this month! On April 28th, following the publication of two beta releases in previous weeks, we announced the RC of the new OpenNebula 6.4 “Archeon”! Keep tuned because the publication of the stable version is imminent now! 🚀

But that’s not all! For corporate users with deployments based on our 5.12 LTS version, we’ve produced OpenNebula 5.12.12 EE Maintenance release, which incorporates as usual a number of additional bug fixes and software patches with minor enhancements developed by OpenNebula System.

Community

Among other novelties, OpenNebula 6.4 comes with the ability to automatically deploy and manage HCI Clusters based on Ceph—the powerful open source software-defined storage solution. In the coming weeks we’ll be creating some extra materials to introduce to our Community the new features in this version, but in the meantime, here you have some more details about how we are building the new GUI for OpenNebula and how we’ve been improving the LXC driver with CPU pinning.

Outreach

We are four weeks away from the OpenNebulaCon 2022, which is scheduled for May 31 – June 2, 2022. We are preparing 3 days of exciting, amazing sessions featuring talks with real experiences and use cases, as well as hands-on tutorials, workshops, and hacking sessions. Time to register, folks! 🗓️

But before that, we’ll be at the Cloud Expo Europe Frankfurt (Germany) next week, so make sure you visit us at booth G125!
