OpenNebula 7.4 is almost here: This new release introduces improvements across the user experience, infrastructure management, and workload scheduling. Highlights include enhanced user controls, Storage DRS, VLAN Groups, and new affinity/anti-affinity rules through Server Groups. An important update in this version relates to the Veeam integration, removing the need for a separate storage server to act as a backup buffer, which was mandatory in OpenNebula 7.2.

The latest white paper from the Confidential Computing Consortium highlights OpenNebula among the platforms supporting confidential computing, recognizing its role in building trusted cloud environments for sensitive workloads.

Slurm on OpenNebula: OpenNebula extends its AI Factory blueprints with Slurm-based batch scheduling for AI training and fine-tuning workloads, bringing HPC-style job orchestration and efficient GPU resource management to AI infrastructure.
