OpenNebula 7.2.1 is out: The latest maintenance release brings improvements to observability, per live migration options per VM to tune memory compression, SR-IOV and Open vSwitch networking, plus new Prometheus exporters—while also laying the groundwork for Elastic Kubernetes with OneKS.
Introducing OneKS: OpenNebula’s new enterprise-only Elastic Kubernetes Service simplifies the deployment and management of production-ready Kubernetes clusters, bringing a more integrated and scalable approach to cloud-native workloads within OpenNebula environments.
OpenNebula Apps 7.2.1 is also here: the companion release to OpenNebula 7.2.1 includes updated base operating systems, improvements to appliances like OneKS and NIM, and key security updates—covering recent kernel-level vulnerabilities such as Copy Fail (CVE-2026-31431)—for more secure and efficient cloud-native deployments.
Enterprise Alliances
OpenNebula is now integrated with NVIDIA DSX OS, enabling organizations to build and operate full-scale AI Factories with a platform that spans GPU infrastructure, cloud orchestration, and multi-tenant AI services.

OpenNebula and SUSE are joining forces to deliver a fully open, sovereign cloud stack—combining enterprise Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud orchestration to help organizations build flexible, vendor-independent infrastructure.
Innovation
OpenNebula is helping shape the next generation of European cloud infrastructure through the IPCEI-CIS initiative, advancing sovereign, interoperable cloud and edge technologies designed to support Europe’s strategic digital autonomy goals.
